Developer exits rezoning request in Maryville

MARYVILLE A developer withdraws from a rezoning project, the deadline is near for two property owners near a proposed roundabout and a storm sewer replacement is planned, all in Maryville.
In a Dec. 27 email to the village’s planning commission, resident and founder of the Stonebridge Golf Course Advocating Homeowners group Mandi Voegele reminded officials what happened in 2019 when TMEG, Inc. sought to rezone the former Stonebridge Golf Course as residential. Trustees ultimately denied the change last week.
Short said a similar issue returned at the Dec. 28 planning commission meeting when TMEG requested a 6.11-acre parcel change from agricultural to single family. Short said TMEG’s intent was to divide that portion of the lake to possibly sell to adjacent homeowners and to build four houses on an existing street with no improvements.
