The publisher has not yet confirmed how many redundancies are being made as a consultation process remains ongoing until the end of the month.
Press Gazette has reported that 16 of 29 full-time London-based news staff had been told their jobs were at risk, with four roles thought to be available for those 16.
Brammar announced on Thursday that she had been offered a reduced editor role running the website, but said “news is at the heart of what Huffpost was for me. So I am bowing out”.
In a message to staff she said it was time to “step back to let the new leadership get to work”.

Health chiefs have remained tight-lipped about the number of new cases of the South Africa variant discovered since “surge testing” was urgently rolled out to more than half a million people on Monday.
Some 44 confirmed cases had been found in Lambeth and Wandsworth as of Monday night, with a further 30 probable cases, the DHSC said earlier this week.
But more than two days later, the government’s official variant dashboard, which monitors these numbers, is still displaying data from April 7, while the Department for Health and Social Care could not answer any of HuffPost UK’s questions yesterday.

Labour has urged the government to publish the list of government ministers’ financial affairs after Michael Gove hinted that it could be delayed again.
Shadow cabinet ministers Rachel Reeves and Angela Rayner said a failure to publish the register before the May 6 elections risked voters thinking the Tories “could be covering up possible conflicts of interest”.
It follows Michael Gove last month hinting that there could be further delays in compiling a new register of interests, which was last published in July 2020 despite the ministerial code requiring it to be released “twice yearly”.
