Giarratana, 32 and a lifelong resident of Jersey City, has been actively involved in public affairs and local politics since she was a teenager, helping elect Democrats up and down the ballot.

The frosty relationship between U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez and Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop is plunging to sub-zero temperatures.
