Man arrested in Jersey City New Year’s Day murder ×
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit arrested Jersey City resident Darius Evans, 45, in connection with the stabbing death of 39-year-old Tyrone Haskins on Jan. 1.
He turned himself in with his attorney on Monday, Jan. 11, just after 12 p.m., at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City.
He previously had been charged in connection with the murder, and a warrant had been issued for his arrest.
He is charged with Murder, a crime of the first degree; Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purposes, a crime of the third degree; and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, a crime of the fourth degree.

The HCPO Homicide Unit arrested Darius Evans, 45, of Jersey City, in connection with the stabbing death of 39-year-old Tyrone Haskins on January 1st in Jersey City, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said in a statement.
Evans was arrested after he turned himself in with his attorney today just after 12 noon at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City. He previously had been charged in connection with the murder and a warrant had been issued for his arrest.
Evans is charged with murder, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, and unlawful possession of a weapon.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit has charged a 13-year-old Jersey City girl with the shooting death of a 35-year-old man who was shot at Martin Luther King Drive and Wilkinson on the afternoon of Dec. 10, according to a press release from the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.
The teen was arrested by Jersey City police officers just before 7 p.m. on Dec. 24, in the area of Union Street and MLK Drive.
The unnamed girl has been charged as a juvenile with Murder, a first-degree crime; Aggravated Assault, a second-degree crime; Possession of a Weapon (firearm) for an Unlawful Purpose, a second-degree crime; Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, a second-degree crime; and Possession of a Firearm by a Minor, a second-degree crime.
