Jersey City man charged with alleged sexual assault of boy ×
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit has arrested a Jersey City man, 63, on charges that he sexually assaulted a boy, 11, in his care.
According to the HCPO, Jersey City resident has been charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a crime of the second degree, and Sexual Assault, a crime of the second degree.
Law enforcement arrested Rueda on Jan. 6, at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.
The HCPO has filed a motion for detention pending trial which is scheduled to be heard on Jan. 12.

Leon Rueda, 63, of Jersey City, has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and sexual assault, both second-degree crimes.
Rueda was arrested on Wednesday, January 6th at approximately 3:30 p.m. at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office. The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office has filed a motion for detention pending trial which will be heard on Tuesday, January 12th.
Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit for the investigation and arrest.

A Jersey City man burned his young nephew and niece with a cigarette lighter, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
Jaimear Butler, 21, has been charged with third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, third-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, third-degree aggravated assault and second-degree witness tampering.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit was notified by the state Division of Child Protection and Permanency on Dec.28 about an allegation of two abused children who reside in Jersey City, officials said.

A North Bergen man was arrested this week on accusations he killed his 4-month-old daughter, who died from traumatic brain injuries in March 2018.
A Hudson County Grand Jury handed up an indictment of Raul Torres on Dec. 17, charging him with murder and endangering the welfare of a child, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
Torres, age 27, was arrested Tuesday evening on Sedore Avenue after a traffic stop, and was processed on the homicide warrant issued following the indictment, Suarez said.
On Feb. 13, 2018, a Jersey City police officer station at the Jersey City Medical Center contacted the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit to report a 4-month-old girl, who was unresponsive and not breathing, had been taken to the hospital by ambulance, the prosecutor said.

NORTH BERGEN, NJ Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced Wednesday that a North Bergen man was charged this week with first-degree murder following a grand jury indictment for his role in the death of his 4-month-old daughter, who died from traumatic brain injuries in March, 2018.
Raul Torres, 27, was pulled over in North Bergen on Tuesday and arrested, the prosecutor said.
