On Tuesday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo confirmed 1.28 percent of all COVID tests over the previous 24 hours came back positve. 1.28 percent is the highest one-day total since mid-May.
According to Cuomo, 643 tests came back positive on Monday out of 50,053 tests reported. Last Monday, July 5, 255 tests came back positive, according to the New York State COVID Dashboard.
Nationwide the number of daily COVID cases has nearly doubled from last week, according to the CDC. 43 states, including New York, are dealing with a surge as the more contagious Delta variant spreads.

We ve taken the Hudson Valley Cider Festival and added to it, which is where Ciders, Seltzers, and Sours come in. Ellenville police report an arrest warrant was issued in connection with an Ellenville murder last month. 30-year-old Dominic Domo King is accused of killing 39-year-old Gerald Richardson near an Ellenville park.
Richardson was shot multiple times at 8 Berme Road in the Village of Ellenville on Tuesday, June 29 just before 11 p.m., police say. Richardson later died from his injuries and his death was ruled a homicide.
Police are currently asking for help in finding King. King also goes by the name Domo. King is described as being 5 10 220 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and tattoos on his right and left forearms. King has strong ties to Kingston, police say.

Major renovations are coming rest stops on the New York State Thruway. Construction is set to begin in July on the $450 million projects that will renovate 27 rest stops across I-87.
