75 percent of Hudson County distribution center vaccines administered

Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise visited the county s vaccine distribution center in kearny to thank healthcare workers.
The Hudson County Vaccine Task Force, overseen by County Executive Tom DeGise and the Hudson Regional Health Commission, has now administered 75 percent of the COVID-19 vaccines supplied late last month.
The Hudson County Vaccine Distribution Center, which opened on Dec. 23, anticipates receiving two additional shipments of the Moderna vaccine in the coming days to continue its efforts to vaccinate all residents and essential workers.

COVID-19 vaccines are being distributed across North Hudson, most recently in Secaucus and West New York.

Secaucus began administering COVID-19 vaccines at its municipal Vaccination Point of Distribution (POD) on Dec. 30. A very limited batch of Moderna vaccines were administered to healthcare workers and emergency personnel working at the town’s Vaccination POD, a trailer and heated tent outside the Recreation Center.

“Today, I was honored to meet with several of our healthcare heroes at the Hudson County Vaccine Distribution Center and personally thank them for going above and beyond to combat this virus,” Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise said in a statement.

The Hudson County Vaccine Task Force, overseen by Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise and the Hudson Regional Health Commission, officially began administering the COVID-19 vaccine to health care workers in Phase 1A of the state’s vaccination program.
