HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. Black Lives Matter and other anti-racism protestors appeared at a California beach pier Sunday to counter White Lives Matter rally goers, multiple news organizations reported. In all, 12 arrests had been made and an unlawful assembly had been declared.
The Huntington Beach Police Department declared an unlawful assembly shortly before 3 p.m., in order to disperse an unruly crowd, according to police Lt. Brian Smith.

An unlawful assembly was declared Sunday in Huntington Beach, where anti-racism protesters squared off with supporters of a planned White Lives Matter demonstration.
Huntington Beach Police from California declared unlawful assembly after demonstrators of White Lives Matter and Black Lives Matter clash in the area on Sunday.
Because of the incident, the authorities have requested the residents around the area of the demonstration to evacuate, as the law enforcement officers try to disperse the unruly crowd, according to a report from The Hill. The event happened near the pier on Sunday afternoon.

The event was promoted on social media and was dubbed as White Lives Matter protest and is set to start at 1:00 p.m., according to an ABC7 report. The said demonstration was planned on Facebook and Telegram.

Attempts to organize far-right White Lives Matter marches in cities across the country failed spectacularly, with a number of planned events having almost no attendees or canceled entirely.
White supremacists, neo-Nazis and other extremists had coordinated dozens of rallies in cities such as Fort Texas, Chicago, Illinois and Orlando, Florida, all due to take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
The marches were planned and discussed on social media and encrypted messaging app Telegram.
However, there was no real indication that many of the White Lives Marches would be highly attended, with several dedicated channels for individual marches in cities having only a handful of subscribers.
