Across the country, people are getting ready to celebrate the holidays this week. Health officials are worried about a potential increase in positive COVID-19 cases if people don t follow CDC guidelines.
WAAY 31 learned what two Huntsville paramedics endured when they had the coronavirus.
Jean Humphrey and David Drake are two young and seemingly healthy paramedics. They initially thought they d feel fine if they were to get the coronavirus, but that wasn t the case.

A man was shot Tuesday and transported to Huntsville Hospital by Huntsville Emergency Medical Services.
HEMSI spokesman Don Webster said the man was shot in the 900 block of Lee Drive in Huntsville.
Huntsville police have taped off a section of Lee Drive, and are flying a drone above the scene.

The shooting happened at the Wavaho station on Pulaski Pike shortly before 5:30 p.m.
Don Webster, a spokesman for Huntsville Emergency Medical Services, Inc., said the man was in serious but stable condition when he was taken to the hospital’s trauma services unit.
Lt. Jesse Sumlin, a Huntsville police spokesman, said investigators were still working the case Friday morning. No arrests have been announced.

Huntsville police are investigating an assault outside a gas station Thursday night.
The department says a shooting took place outside of the Wavaho on Pulaski Pike near Carmichael Drive.
Don Webster, a spokesperson for Huntsville Emergency Medical Services, says the victim was taken to Huntsville Hospital in serious but stable condition.
A suspect is not in custody, as of 7 p.m. Thursday.

A Huntsville City Schools bus was involved in a wreck on Wednesday.
According to Don Webster, a spokesperson for Huntsville Emergency Medical Services, crews were called to the wreck at Belle Mor Drive NW and Old Railroad Bed Road, near Highway 72.
Webster said 15 kids were on board the bus in addition to the driver. A spokesperson for Huntsville City Schools, Craig Williams, said the bus was rear-ended.
