Hannibal Man Arrested on Assault, Weapons Charges
A Hannibal man is charged in connection with a stabbing incident over the weekend.
Hannibal Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 900 block of Taylor just before 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
Officers arrived to find a 22 year old Hannibal man with what appeared to be stab wounds. He was taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment.
Police took 27 year old Jimmy Atteberry, Jr. into custody. Warrants were issued Sunday, charging Atteberry with domestic assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.
Atteberry is lodged in the Marion County Jail on $50,000 cash bond.
Two Hurt, One Seriously, in Weekend Area Traffic Crashes
A Clayton man suffers serious injuries in a one car crash just south of the junction of Highways 107 and 104 in Pike County at 12:15 p.m. Saturday.
The State Police report 40 year old Christopher Abernathy was northbound on 107 when his car ran off the road, traveled across a field, struck an embankment, became airborne and struck two large trees before coming to rest in a creek.
Abernathy was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The investigation into the crash continues.
A Hannibal man escapes with minor injuries in a one car crash on Marion County Road 422 west of Hannibal at 7:40 p.m. Saturday.
HANNIBALÂ â A Hannibal man was left with minor injuries following a one-vehicle mishap Saturday night in Marion County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol the accident occurred at 7:40 p.m., Dec. 19, on County Road 422, 3 miles west of Hannibal.
A 2015 Chevrolet Impala was being driven west by 36-year-old Kelly V. Murphy of Hannibal.
According to the accident report the vehicle traveled off the right side of the road where it struck a culvert and overturned. Before coming to rest on its wheels the car also struck a tree.
Murphy, who was wearing a safety device, was transported to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
