From the Humboldt County Joint Information Center: The State of California has updated guidance for various industry sectors to expand capacity with COVID-19 safety measures in place, while also outlining a timeline for full reopening on June 15. Citing the state’s vaccination progress and stabilized case rates and hospitalizations, California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced that the state will do away with the “Blueprint for a Safer Economy.” The state will require masking as well as testing or vaccination verification requirements in relevant settings after the “Blueprint” sunsets. Go to myturn.ca.gov, or call 1-833-422-4255 to schedule an appointment. Residents should only use My Turn if they have not yet received any dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Those who are due or nearly due for their second dose should call the Humboldt County Joint Information Center at 707-441-5000 for more information about scheduling. For the most recent COVID-19 information, visit cdc.gov or cdph.ca.gov. Local information is available at humboldtgov.org or during business hours by contacting covidinfo@co.humboldt.ca.us or calling 707-441-5000. Some Safeway, CVS Pharmacy, Rite Aid, Walgreen’s and Walmart locations are offering COVID-19 vaccination appointments. Humboldt Residents Now Need to Use State Site for COVID-19 Vaccine Notifications, Appointments Starting now, Humboldt County residents looking to receive a COVID-19 vaccine need to register through the state s My Turn site as part of a transition to Blue Shield taking over vaccine distribution and registration. According to the county s release, residents who filled out the county s vaccine interest form will have to do so again on the state s My Turn website (which can be found here) as county information will not be rolled over to the state s database. Those who have already received one dose do not need to use My Turn for scheduling and should receive an email from Public Health or contact from the original provider about second dose information, according to a news release.
