Humboldt County Public Health confirmed five new COVID-19 cases today, while continuing to urge residents to sign up with the state s My Turn vaccine registry and fill hundreds of open local appointments this weekend. The five cases were reported after laboratories processed 156 samples with a test-positivity rate of 3.2 percent. The county s cumulative case count now stands at 3,508 after several previously reported cases were removed, with one being deemed a duplicate reporting and a handful of others traced to non-county residents. One new hospitalization was also reported today. Those interested can sign up on the state’s My Turn site. “We are so thankful to those members of our community who waited for their turn, and now it’s here, Humboldt County Public Health Director Michele Stephens said in a release. We encourage everyone to get vaccinated as soon as possible, so we can all spend time with friends and loved ones safely and protect those under 16 who can’t yet get vaccinated.”

COVID REPORT: Seven New Cases Confirmed Today, Joint Information Center Says; A Fifth of the County Fully Vaccinated

Humboldt County Public Health and other approved local vaccinators have administered 66,648 doses of COVID-19 vaccine, an increase of 9,322 doses since last week’s report.
Vaccination data has been updated on the Humboldt County Data Dashboard. Some highlights include:
26,085 local residents are fully vaccinated, which represents 19.2% of the county’s total estimated population and about 23.2% of county residents who are 16 and over and currently qualify for vaccination.
Nearly 1 in 3 or 31.6% of the county’s total population has received at least one dose of vaccine, meaning they have some protection against the virus.
