There can be a way out for the next round of talks between the government and farmer unions protesting against the Centre s new farm laws in a day or two, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said after meeting Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Saturday.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Saturday said there can be a way out for the next round of talks between the government and the farmers, while union leaders said they will decide their course of action within the next two to three days.
Khattar’s comments came after he met Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar for the second time this month, the first one being on December 8.

Congress Mayoral candidate from Panchkula Municipal Corporation elections Upinder Kaur Ahluwalia on Friday hit out at the BJP for claiming that she did not allow development in the city.
“In reality, it is BJP which put hurdles in the path of development rather than supporting it. Nobody could deny the development works carried out by us during our last tenure at Panchkula MC,” she said.
She further said: “Panchkula people have seen my work. We are here to serve them again.”
Talking about shifting of the garbage dumping site away from residential areas, she said that she prompted passed a resolution in the matter during her time, though however it was not executed further.

Chandigarh, Dec 17: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday termed the death of Sikh preacher Sant Ram Singh, who was supporting the farmers protest and allegedly committed suicide near the Singhu border, an irreparable loss .
His Punjab counterpart Amarinder Singh also expressed grief over the death of the 65-year-old preacher. Police said Sant Ram Singh allegedly died by suicide near the Singhu border on Wednesday.
A handwritten note in Punjabi, purportedly left behind by the deceased, says he was unable to bear the pain of farmers . The note is being verified by the police. An official of the Sonipat police said they had received a call that Sant Ram Singh (65), who hailed from Singhra village in Nissing area of Karnal district, allegedly shot himself.
