Hong Kong police yesterday detained 47 democracy advocates on charges of conspiracy to commit subversion under the territory’s National Security Law, in the largest mass charge against the semi-autonomous Chinese territory’s opposition camp since the law came into effect in June last year. KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 25 – Malaysia is set to receive China’s Sinovac vaccine for Covid-19 on Saturday, the second brand of vaccine within a span of one week, after welcoming the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, thus further strengthening the country’s economic recovery path. The Sinovac vaccine, called CoronaVac, was secured through a supply agreement involving 14 million doses inked between Pharmaniaga Bhd and Chinese pharmaceutical company, Sinovac Life Sciences Co Ltd.

Palace says Sinovac vaccine to arrive on Feb 28

Roque Jr. announced today that 600 million doses of sinovac vaccine from China are expected to arrive on Sunday, February 28. According to Roque, hospitals in the country are well prepared including the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) for the arrival of the said vaccine. In addition, Sec. Roque reiterates that there is no reason to be afraid for the Sinovac vaccine.  He said  many world leaders have been vaccinated with  the Sinovac vaccine among them are the Turkey President Tayyip Erdogan, Hongkong Chief Executive Carrie Lam and Indonesia President Joko Widodo.
