HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) - Irish eyes are smiling on a new, temporary exhibit in downtown Hattiesburg that focuses on the upcoming St. Patrickâs Day holiday.
The exhibit is in the storefront of the former Kress Department Store on Main Street.
Itâs the result of a collaboration between the Hattiesburg Downtown Association and the University Archives at Southern Miss.
The exhibit includes items belonging to the Rev. Tommy Conway, a native of Ireland who is pastor of St. Fabian Catholic Church.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) - The 44th Victorian Candlelit Christmas began Saturday evening at 5 p.m.
Several families made their way out by car and foot to see the candles throughout downtown Hattiesburg and Hattiesburgâs Historic District.
One Walnut Street resident describes his experience with the event.
âItâs so much fun to sit on the porch and get âMerry Christmasâ greetings and run into people that you know and folks that you donât know. Itâs just a blast,â said Mike Madaris. âItâs one of our favorite things probably driving through on a Candlelit Christmas four years ago that probably one of the big reasons that we started looking for a house downtown and here we are.â
