The Christian County Master Gardener Association announces Allie Maternowski is the recipient of its Gift for Horticultural Education. Allie is a junior studying agriculture science and horticulture at Murray State University. She is an excellent student and is already involved in horticulture research at the University of Kentucky Research and Education Center in Princeton as a student employee. This $1,000 gift is awarded annually to third- or fourth-year college students pursuing a degree in horticulture or a related field. The purpose of the gift is to help with studentâs expenses in their final years of pursuing a degree. Funding comes from Master Gardener community projects, including the Garden and Outdoor Living EXPO. For more information, contact the Christian County Extension Office at 270-886-6328.
