Library to continue offering curbside service option

Hopkinsville, KY, USA / WHOP 1230 AM | News Radio Mar 16, 2021 9:49 AM The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library implemented some new procedures during the pandemic to keep its patrons safe and at least one of those policies will continue after the pandemic is over due to its popularity. Executive Director DeeAnna Sova says the curbside pickup service will remain an offering of the library.

This March we’re featuring Big Read Read-A-Likes at the library. The Big Read book for this year is “Circe” by Madeline Miller, which focuses on the witch Circe of Greek mythology. If you enjoyed this mythology book, you’re sure to enjoy these other looks at myth as well: ‘A Thousand Ships’ by Natalie Haynes This newly-released book tells the story of the women involved in the Trojan War and how the war affected them from their perspective. Master Gardener The Christian County Master Gardener Association announces Allie Maternowski is the recipient of its Gift for Horticultural Education. Allie is a junior studying agriculture science and horticulture at Murray State University. She is an excellent student and is already involved in horticulture research at the University of Kentucky Research and Education Center in Princeton as a student employee. This $1,000 gift is awarded annually to third- or fourth-year college students pursuing a degree in horticulture or a related field. The purpose of the gift is to help with student’s expenses in their final years of pursuing a degree. Funding comes from Master Gardener community projects, including the Garden and Outdoor Living EXPO. For more information, contact the Christian County Extension Office at 270-886-6328.
