A man was severely injured in a fight on Poplar Street in Hopkinsville Saturday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say a 911 open line around midnight led them to respond to the area and when they arrived a man was found with severe injuries from an assault.
The man was taken by ambulance to a waiting helicopter at Jennie Stuart Medical Center that transported him to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
Authorities say the man suffered severe injuries from the assault. No arrest has been made.

After a year off due to the pandemic, the WHOP’er of an Egg Hunt is returning to Hopkinsville Saturday, April 3 at Tie Breaker Park.
Pam Rudd with Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation says the egg hunt will have some minor changes this year to prevent spread of the coronavirus, but it will for the most part be the same egg hunt you’ve come to love when the horn sounds at 11 a.m.
A Hopkinsville man told police three people assaulted him during a robbery on South Virginia Street in Hopkinsville Saturday night.
Hopkinsville Police say three people approached a woman and tried to take her phone at 2323 South Virginia Street just after 6 pm.
The woman’s husband reportedly tried to stop the suspects and they assaulted him.
Police say the suspects fled in a blue car before they arrived.
