A Hopkinsville man was charged after drugs were reportedly found in his home on Kenwood Drive in Hopkinsville Wednesday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say 29-year-old Cleve Nedd was found to have a handgun and 9.7 ounces of synthetic drugs after a search warrant was executed at his home.
Nedd reportedly admitted the handgun was his and acknowledged that he was a convicted felon.
He is charged with trafficking in synthetic drugs, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A Hopkinsville woman told police her phone was taken on Brock Avenue in Hopkinsville Wednesday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say a white iPhone 11 was taken out of the home without the owner’s consent.
The phone is valued at $700. No arrest has been made.
A Hopkinsville man was charged with DUI after a traffic stop on Faulkner Drive in Hopkinsville Wednesday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say 28-year-old Christopher Kimbrough was stopped after he was seen following too close to a vehicle in front of him and speeding.
During the stop, police say they could smell a strong odor of alcohol and his eyes were bloodshot.
A loaded handgun was allegedly found under the driver’s seat along with an open bottle of alcohol inside the vehicle.
He reportedly failed a standardized field sobriety test and was arrested and charged with DUI second offense, careless driving, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
Authorities are investigating after shots were fired on Sterling Drive in Hopkinsville Wednesday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say two shell casings were located in the driveway of a home after a report of several shots being fired just before 1 pm.
Authorities have not received any reports of any injuries and the home located at the intersection of Redbud Drive was not hit in the shooting.
