Police Officer Helps Two People Out Of Burning Home (w/VIDEO)

A home on Maple Court in Hopkinsville was badly damaged in a fire Saturday afternoon. Hopkinsville Firefighters say smoke and flames were coming from the back of the home when they arrived just before 4 pm. Hopkinsville Police Officer Ryan Bufford and an unknown citizen helped get one person and Bufford was able to get a second person out of the home safely before firefighters arrived. Three people hurt in three vehicle collision on Pembroke Rd; One seriously injured

Three people were injured in a three vehicle collision at 4 p.m. Wednesday on Pembroke Road, leading one driver to be flown to a Nashville hospital for serious injuries, according to a Hopkinsville Police Department report. The report states Daja Myers, 18, Hopkinsville, was driving south on Pembroke Road while Robert Bronaugh, 70, Hopkinsville, was driving north on the same road as Kevin Grant, 53, Hopkinsville, was driving behind Bronaugh in a semi-truck. According to the report, Myers crossed over the median and made contact with the front driver side of Bronaugh’s vehicle causing him to lose control of his vehicle and crashed in a ditch on the right shoulder of the road.

HPD investigating theft of U-Haul truck

The Hopkinsville Police Department is investigating the theft of a U-Haul truck on Wayside Drive. According to the incident report, a suspect intentionally drove off in the U-Haul truck without permission sometime Wednesday or Thursday from a residence in the 300 block of Wayside the keys had been left inside the vehicle.  The truck had a value of approximately $45,000.
