HAMILTON COUNTY, Ill. (KFVS) - The Hamilton County Health Department is reporting one new case of COVID-19.
Out of the 700 confirmed cases, 17 people have died, 665 have recovered and 15 are currently active.
Two people are currently hospitalized.

Health Department Announces New Schedule At The COVID Alstom Testing Site

The Hamilton County Health Departmentâs COVID testing site at Alstom will no longer operate on Sundays, beginning January 24. The site will continue operations 6 days a week from Monday through Saturday, 10:00AM-2:30PM. As always, testing continues to be free and no appointment is necessary.
âThere has been a steady decrease in the demand for testing,â said Health Department Administrator Becky Barnes, âand an increase in both the demand and supply of vaccine. Therefore, we are making changes to accommodate this new phase of pandemic response and will redirect staff from our testing site to our vaccination sites on Sundays. We want to assure the community that we will continue to offer free testing as long as there is a need.â

The Hamilton County Health Department’s appointment-only vaccine process created problems for people who do not have the resources or knowledge of how to schedule one online.
Charles Towell, an 88-year-old veteran from Soddy Daisy and his 86-year-old wife Joanne, said they had been turned away three times at the Tennessee Riverpark while trying to get the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
