One WCPO viewer, who asked not to be named, wrote to us: âWhy do you not have to be an Ohio resident, work in Ohio or even be a UC health patient in order to receive the covid vaccine? Other states like Kentucky, require you to be a resident or essential worker in the state and proof is required?â

As a breast cancer survivor, I wanted to know more about the recommendation from the Society of Breast Imaging to consider getting a mammogram prior to your first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, or four to six weeks after the second dose.
Dr. Steve Feagins of Mercy Health and Hamilton County Public Health said the recommendation comes because the vaccine can inflame lymph nodes. That can also be a red flag for cancer in imaging and perhaps trigger more testing.

Dr. Steve Feagins, with Hamilton County Public Health and Mercy Health, said there's no need to get tested before a vaccine appointment. But, the CDC recommends that if you have COVID-19, you should wait to get a shot so as not to infect others.

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Dr. Jennifer Forrester, an infectious disease expert at UC Health, discussed the COVID-19 variants like the one found in Hamilton County at a press conference on Wednesday.
According to the Ohio Department of Health, there are 72,486 cases and 944 deaths.
On Monday, Hamilton County Public Health said a UK variant of COVID-19 was found from a test that was taken on Jan. 30.
The UK variant was “detected during routine surveillance of tests submitted to the CDC,” according to Hamilton County Public Health.
