Opinion: GOP uses cronyism to ignore the will of voters Kathleen Brinkman View Comments Across the country last year, voters voted out incumbent Republican office holders from Donald Trump on down. By voting them out, we rejected the corrupt, self-interested ways in which they governed along with their do-nothing policies. Instead of learning lessons from these losses, GOP leaders nationwide have doubled down, determined to turn the tables and teach the voters a lesson by thwarting their will on a massive scale. In state after state, now including Ohio, Republican-led legislatures are trying to teach voters a lesson by making it harder to vote next time. Here in Hamilton County, Republican leaders have a unique way of showing their disdain for the will of the voters: by handing lucrative jobs to their cronies whom the voters of this county rejected last November.
