She was found unconscious in a closet on the second floor of her home in the 1900 block of Baltimore Avenue in North Fairmount, fire officials have said. They believe she was hiding in the closet to escape the blaze, which started in her kitchen about 8 p.m.

A homicide investigation is underway. It happened around 11:15 p.m. Thursday at the corner of Eighth Street and Elberon Avenue in the city’s East Price Hill neighborhood. According to officials with the Cincinnati Police Department, one person was found dead at the scene, believed to have been struck by a car. That person has been identified as 28-year-old Phillip Lanton. The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office lists his death as an apparent homicide. Police have provided few specifics on the crash. Brother of Cincinnati boy allegedly thrown into Ohio River continues as area student, could be adopted Rick McCrabb Neko Lattimore was watching TV in December when he heard his brother was reportedly missing and possibly thrown alive into the Ohio River in Cincinnati. So he called his great aunt, Marcia Cooper, 59, who was at the grocery store. “We just kept hoping he was alive,” she said. On Sunday, rescue crews spent nearly six hours searching the Ohio River for the bodies of 3-year-old Nylo Lattimore and 6-year-old James Hutchinson, both of whom allegedly were thrown into the river. Neither boy was found, according to officials.
