Posted Apr 1, 2021 4:00 pm AMES, Iowa – Iowa State University and the Crew Club at Iowa State are continuing to work with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources in its ongoing investigation of the boating accident on March 28, at Little Wall Lake in Hamilton County. The university is also developing the framework for its review of university and sport club policies and procedures. As part of that process, USRowing will conduct a safety review specific to the day of the accident and of safety policies and practices for the Crew Club in general. USRowing is a nonprofit membership organization recognized by the United States Olympic Committee as the national governing body for the sport of rowing in the United States.

When Bad Weather Shut Down Helicopter Flights, A Way Was Still Found To Get A Life-Saving Heart From Erlanger To Vanderbilt Wednesday, February 24, 2021 The Hamilton County emergency team on Feb. 15 arranged a unique transport of a heart from Erlanger Hospital to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville to a waiting heart transplant recipient. The weather at the time was too bad for a helicopter flight so local telecommunicators set up a plan for a police escort on the roads and interstate from one hospital to the other. It worked and the heart recipient was overwhelmed with emotion when she learned of the extraordinary steps that were taken to provide her with the life-saving heart.

SWAT Raid On House Near Corral Road Forces Closure Of Highway Across Signal Mountain; He Is Taken Into Custody And Roads Reopen Friday, February 12, 2021 - by Judy Frank SWAT situation on Signal Mountain An attempt by Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department deputies to serve a warrant and make an arrest Friday afternoon on Signal Mountain closed the highway across the mountain for hours and kept area Facebook sites hopping.  The suspect was taken into custody around 4:20. A host of officers were seen leading him from the residence. The roads reopened. Law enforcement officials and SWAT team members surrounded a house located on Taft Highway, across from Corral Road.
