Police recieved reports of the incident at 4.30pm on Thursday. An armed response attended at Elphinstone Crescent in East Kilbride, where officers arrested a 57-year-old man. A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 4.30pm on May 20, police received a report of a man in possession of a firearm in Elphinstone Crescent, East Kilbride. “Officers, supported by specialist firearms officers, attended and a 57-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident. “He is due before Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday, May 24, and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
