In the future, drones will have their own traffic system. This system, in essence a network of services and procedures, will allow flights in areas with a high volume of drones to be carried out easily, safely, efficiently and in coordination with manned air traffic.
This is the idea behind U-Space – a concept of EASA, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency. EU member states have to implement U-Space by the beginning of 2023. Droniq GmbH, Germany s leading company for the integration of drones into airspace, and its parent company DFS, the German air navigation service provider, are putting the idea into practice for the first time – from conception to commissioning.

The winners of the most famous and prestigious international prize for aircraft interiors, Delta Air Lines, Diehl, Global Eagle Entertainment, Vanema, the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW) and twice Airbus, received their trophies in the Ball Room of the Hotel Atlantic Kempinski.
More exciting than ever before – with Bombardier, United Airlines and Delta Air Lines, three international heavyweights went up against each other in the category for best “Cabin Concept”.
The Crystal Cabin Award trophies are presented each year as part of the “Aircraft Interiors Expo” trade fair. The award, an initiative of Hamburg Aviation, was more international and more hotly contested than ever before in its eleven year history, with 85 submissions from 21 countries in 2017. Major players in the industry were well represented, with Airbus alone having four entries make it to the final round.
The most important airshow in Germany, the ILA Berlin, is once again opening its gates from 25 to 29 April, 2018. Hamburg’s role as the largest aviation location in Germany is clear, with numerous exhibitors from the metropolitan region, including major industry leaders, startups and small businesses. In 2018, Hamburg Aviation is also jointly responsible for the organisation of the International Supplier Center ISC. For the second year running the north German states are demonstrating their solidarity with a shared chalet. There will be a strong political presence on Thursday, 26 April, when representatives of all the northern states, including Senator Frank Horch, Minister for Economic Affairs in Hamburg, go on a tour of the airshow.
