Springfield police charge Christian Barbee with rape; indecent sexual assault of minor

SPRINGFIELD - Springfield police arrested a 35-year old Springfield man with a history of sexual assault charges on Tuesday afternoon, charging him with sexually assaulting two underage girls during the fall, police said.
Christian Barbee is charged with two counts of indecent assault and battery on a person age 14 or over, and single counts of rape, kidnapping, and witness intimidation.
He was arrested just before 1 p.m. at Buckingham Place and Buckingham Street in the city’s McKnight neighborhood by members of the Springfield police Warrant Apprehension Unit, and officials with the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force, Hampden County Sheriff’s Department and the state police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section.

Free COVID-19 testing offered to Ludlow residents

LUDLOW Ludlow residents will be offered free COVID-19 testing at an outdoor drive-through site thanks to a partnership between the town and the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department.
The testing will take place Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hampden County Pre-Release Center, 627 Randall Road. In order to be tested, residents must be in line no later than 3 p.m.

The testing does not require a medical referral and residents do not need to be suffering any related COVID-19 symptoms. It is open only to residents of Ludlow.
