The motorcyclist, 35-year-old Kendrick D. Williams from Hampton, was taken to a local hospital with injuries considered life-threatening. Williams later died from his injuries at the hospital.

HAMPTON, Va. Police are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian in Hampton.
The accident happened shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday in the 2700 block of West Mercury Boulevard. A 59-year-old woman lying in the roadway was pronounced dead at the scene.
Based on a preliminary investigation, police say the woman was attempting to cross the street when she was struck by a passing vehicle. The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators.
Police say the crash is under investigation by the members of the Hampton Police Division’s Accident Reconstruction Team, and no charges have been made at this time.
