CONCORD The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services is warning residents about “fine particle air pollution” caused by smoke from the massive wildfires in the West and Canada that has drifted into New England.
DES on Tuesday issued an advisory for vulnerable people including children, the elderly, and anyone who suffers from heart or lung diseases such as asthma or emphysema to limit prolonged activities outdoors. However, even healthy people doing strenuous work outside may experience shortness of breath, chest pain, palpitations or difficulty breathing, the advisory said.
