COVID-19 UPDATE: Three new cases, 13 discharged and one death

One person died from COVID-19 on Monday, May 3. The 63-year-old man was admitted to the Harrison Point Isolation Facility on April 23, and passed away after spending six days on a ventilator. His death brings to 45 the number of people who have succumbed to the virus. Meanwhile, three new positive cases of COVID-19 – two males and one female -were identified from among the 401 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory. Thirteen people recovered from the virus and were discharged. There are currently 81 persons in isolation. Confirmed COVID-19 cases recorded since March 2020 have moved to 3,884 (1,887 females and 1,997 males), and there have been 3,817 recoveries.

There were also six new positive COVID-19 cases, one man and five women, recorded on Tuesday. They were identified from 558 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory. Additionally, eight people recovered and were discharged from isolation. There are now 96 persons in isolation. This is the first time since December, 31, 2020, that the cases in isolation are under 100. Barbados’ confirmed cases of COVID-19 reached 3 697 (1 788 females and 1 909 males). There were 3 565 recoveries.

There were also six new positive COVID-19 cases, one man and five women, recorded on Tuesday. They were identified from 558 tests conducted by the Bestdos Santos Public Health Laboratory. Additionally, eight people recovered and were discharged from isolation. There are now 96 persons in isolation. This is the first time since December 31, 2020, that the cases in isolation are under 100. Barbados’ confirmed cases of COVID-19 have reached 3,697 (1,788 females and 1,909 males). There have also been 3,565 recoveries. The public health laboratory has so far conducted 144,155 tests.

One more COVID-related death

Social Share A 70-year-old Barbadian man with comorbidities is the latest COVID-19 fatality, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 43. He passed away on Friday, April 2, after spending 29 days at the Harrison Point Isolation Facility, 19 of which he was on a ventilator. Additionally, three women tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday.  They were identified from among 346 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory. Meanwhile, 20 people recovered from the virus and were released from isolation. The number remaining in isolation is 105. The total confirmed COVID-19 cases to date is 3 668 – 1 766 females and 1 902 males – and 3 526 people recovered. Since February last year, the public health laboratory has conducted 142 539 tests.
