Police have issued a warrant for a boarding home employee accused in the death of a resident who developed a fatal infection at the southeast Houston property after having his hands tied as punishment, according to court records.
The warrant identifies John Grant as an employee and resident of the Blessed Hands boarding home a facility that prosecutors have also linked to a Harris County home where authorities in September found dozens of people in deplorable conditions. As of Thursday, Grant has not been arrested.

A driver was killed following a series of crashes Monday along Houston s U.S. 290, with the final collision involving a Harris County constable s deputy.
The first crash happened around 2 a.m. in the westbound lanes in the 13000 block of the highway, where the driver lost control of his vehicle after colliding with another car, police said. The impact ejected the driver and sent him careening into the eastbound lanes.
A vehicle driven by a deputy with Harris County Constable s Office, Precinct 4, then hit the man as he landed on the roadway, Houston police Assistant Chief Ban Tien said. Dash-camera footage on the deputy s car showed the impact, he continued.
