The incident occurred at 6:20 a.m. when officials responded to a possible burglary at a private storage unit near Fry and Morton roads. Investigators said the suspect was spotted by a security guard, who called the storage unit’s owner. When the owner arrived, he started to follow the suspect for their license plate information. The suspect attempted to get away and drove on the wrong side of Greenhouse Road. Investigators said that is when the driver collided with another driver.

HCSO: Man killed in north Houston hit-and-run collision Published:  Updated:  Tags:  HOUSTON – A 75-year-old man was killed Friday in a hit-and-run crash on Houston’s north side, Harris County deputies said. The hit-and-run occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. Friday. Deputies said the man was helping a truck driver back a trailer into a driveway in the 600 block of Gulf Bank Rd. when a purple, pearlescent Nissan or Infiniti vehicle struck him and fled. Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene. No additional suspect information was immediately available. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division Hit-and-Run unit at (713) 274-7400.

(pixabay) HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a driver late Saturday in Channelview, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. At approximately 9:52 p.m., a driver in a pickup truck was traveling eastbound in the 15200 block of Woodforest Boulevard when he struck a pedestrian attempting to cross the road in an unmarked area, officials said. The pedestrian, identified as Angel Canales, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. Officials said the driver, Juan Balderas, showed no signs of intoxication during the scene investigation. The case remains under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division.

Authorities say a woman died and a family of five was taken to the hospital after a crash in northwest Harris County. The crash occurred in the 8100 block of Spring Cypress Road near Glenn Haven Estates Drive around 1:53 a.m. Friday. According to the sheriff’s office, the woman’s car was traveling eastbound when she failed to drive in a single lane, over-corrected and her car entered the westbound lanes.  Authorities say the car crashed with an SUV that was traveling westbound.

Hans Miller | News Editor Harris County Sheriffs Office investigators are looking into an accident that took the life of a pedestrian in the 18,200 block of Keith harrow Boulevard at about 4:40 a.m. Dec. 7, HCSO representatives confirmed. The pedestrian, Christopher Houlihan, 30, was struck either while crossing at a crosswalk or walking in the inside lane of the roadway when struck. “The vehicle fled the scene traveling westbound. Mr. Houlihan was found at the scene with no signs of life. This case remains under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division,” an HCSO statement said.
