That Thing You Do! stars The Wonders head back to Erie for appearance

The Erie SeaWolves will host Wonders Night and welcome stars from the hit film That Thing You Do! in celebration of its 25th anniversary. Tom Everett Scott (Guy “Shades” Patterson), Johnathon Schaech (James “Jimmy” Mattingly II), Steve Zahn (Leonard “Lenny” Haise) and Ethan Embry (T.B. Player) will be at UPMC Park on Sept. 4 for the event, the SeaWolves announced Wednesday. The team will host the Harrisburg Senators that day, with game time at 4:05 p.m. and gates opening at 3 p.m. Fans will be able to meet and greet the actors in a pre-game VIP session starting at 2 p.m. It will include a panel discussion, buffet, T-shirt, game ticket and more, starting at $139, organizers said.

Staff report Read Article PORTLAND  Tyreque Reed hit a two-run walk-off home run and the Portland Sea Dogs beat the Harrisburg Senators 6-4 on “Maine Red Snappers” night at Hadlock Field. Reed had four RBI for Portland, which has won 17 of its last 18 games. Harrisburg rallied to tie the game with two runs in the top of the ninth on a two-run double by Gilbert Lara. Portland trailed 2-0 in the second inning, but rallied to take the lead.  Reed hit an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth to get Portland within one, 2-1. The Sea Dogs then scored three in the seventh to take the lead. Nick Sogard was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to give Portland the lead, Pedro Castellanos followed with an RBI single and Reed a sacrifice fly.
