Today’s food box distribution, the last one of the year, made the holidays a little brighter for more than 1,000 Harrisburg families.
The drive-up holiday giveaway, which took place at three Harrisburg School District schools, and at the Latino Center, included ham, chicken, sausage, shelf stable foods and fresh produce, eggs and milk.
Food distributions have been taking place every Tuesday since mid-March when the COVID-19 shutdown first began. Since March, almost 800,000 pounds of food has been given out.
The food is donated through a partnership with the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank in collaboration with the Harrisburg School District.
