Under-pressure Member of Parliament (MP) for Central Westmoreland, George Wright, has resigned as a member of the governing Jamaica Labour Party (JLP).
A statement from the party on Friday afternoon said Wright submitted his letter of resignation to General Secretary, Dr Horace Chang, terminating his membership in the party.
The party said the resignation was accepted, and noted Wright’s stated intention to address matters in the public domain, along with and his continued belief in the policies and programmes of the Government and the JLP.
