Cecilia man arrested after punching, strangling woman during argument December 22, 2020 A Hardin County man has been arrested after punching and strangling a woman. Cody Elliott, 25, of Cecilia, was arrested Saturday night by Kentucky State Police and charged with first-degree strangulation, fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), resisting arrest, and menacing. Troopers responded to Elliott’s Cecilia home on the report of a domestic assault and found the victim with “multiple knots” on her face and “red marks around her neck,” according to The News-Enterprise. The victim told police Elliott was intoxicated and had been drinking all day. The two became embroiled in an argument, resulting in the suspect punching and strangling the victim multiple times, the newspaper reports.

A Cecilia man was arrested Saturday and charged with first degree strangulation. According to an arrest citation from Kentucky State Police, troopers were called to a Cecilia residence on a report of domestic assault. KSP made contact with the victim and the parents of Cody Elliott, 25. The citation said the victim was visibly upset and crying, and said police observed multiple knots on the victim’s face and red marks around her neck She told police that Elliott had been drinking beer all day and was intoxicated. The two argued about one of her children because the child had to go with the biological father for the weekend, which made Elliott upset, the citation said.

Hardin Co. man jailed after shooting at his wife December 14, 2020 A Hardin County man is behind bars after shooting at his wife. Kendrick Ruic, 35, of Elizabethtown, is accused of firing a 9mm handgun at his wife in their Derek Avenue home during an argument, according to The News-Enterprise. Upon Elizabethtown police arriving at the home, Ruic was found in his garage, with the handgun nearby. He was taken into custody without incident. Ruic was lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center where he’s been charged with felony wanton endangerment. He’s being held on a $5,000 cash bond. By Ken Howlett, News Director
