Harvey County confirms COVID-19 case cluster at sheriff’s office The Kansan The Harvey County Health Department, in conjunction with the Harvey County Sheriff’s Office, has confirmed a cluster of COVID-19 cases in the sheriff’s office facility. “Public safety is always our priority, and for some of our staff right now, that means being at home,” said Harvey County Sheriff Chad Gay. “We have excellent law enforcement agencies throughout Harvey County that help us ensure the same level of response will be maintained for our communities. I hope our staff has a safe and healthy recovery.” The cluster includes five employees. Two additional test results are pending.

Krehbiel served as a District 3 county commissioner for 20 years, with his first term beginning in 2001. Prior to that, Krehbiel had a career in law enforcement, serving as deputy for the Harvey County Sheriff’s Office and later as undersheriff. Krehbiel did not run for another term in the most recent election and instead chose to retire when his fifth term ended this month. Don Schroeder was elected as the next District 3 commissioner, and was previously scheduled to be sworn in on Monday.

COVID-19 cluster reported at Harvey County Detention Center

Posted By: George Lawson January 8, 2021 @ 11:22 am Local News, News Harvey County health officials have reported a cluster of coronavirus cases at the county’s Detention Center in Newton.  This follows a report of a cluster in the Harvey County Sheriff’s Office. Health officials said five inmates in the Detention Center have tested positive, and they were all from the same pod.  They are in isolation away from the rest of the inmate population.   There were four other inmates in the pod, and they have been placed in quarantine as close contacts.   Health officials said the inmates did not have interactions with other inmates outside of the pod.

COVID-19 Cluster Confirmed at Harvey County Sheriff’s Office The Harvey County Sheriff’s Office and Harvey Health Department confirmed a COVID-19 cluster within the Sheriff’s Office facility on Wednesday. The cluster includes 5 employees with two additional tests pending results. Those confirmed to have COVID-19 are currently in isolation. The Health Department will continue to monitor the health of those infected, and close contacts of the patients have been notified. The cluster will be considered active until 28 days have passed without any positive cases. Despite the employees being in isolation, it is not anticipated to disrupt law enforcement services.
