An armed carjacking suspect fleeing from law enforcement collided with another vehicle on Interstate 95 in Daytona Beach on Tuesday night, hitting a car carrying four people and killing a brother and sister from Wisconsin in the head-on, wrong-way crash, authorities said.
The carjacking suspect also died in the crash. He was heading south on Interstate 95, driving without lights on a 2017 Nissan Altima. The unidentified suspect made a U-turn and started driving north in the southbound lanes.
The accident closed the southbound lanes of the interstate around 7 p.m. in the area of Exit 260A, which is the Beville Road/Interstate 4 interchange, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The veteran sheriff got emotional at a press conference Wednesday afternoon when sharing that the 21-year-old brother and his 18-year-old sister, accompanied by another 13-year-old sibling and a 17-year-old female cousin, died following family home after visiting a Christmas lights exhibit at Daytona International Speedway.
The brother was driving and the sister was the front-seat passenger, Florida Highway Patrol investigators said.
Three people were killed and two were injured in a crash on I-95 South near Daytona Beach Tuesday evening after a suspect fleeing deputies turned onto the highway going the wrong direction and hit another car head-on, authorities said.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A 35-year-old woman was fatally struck while walking across U.S. 1 Tuesday night, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department.
Police said the crash happened at about 11:50 p.m. near the intersection of U.S.1 and Osceola Avenue.

Turner was one of two suspects that officers were looking for following a shooting that claimed the life of 19-year-old John Phillips. Police say Turner and another suspect found Phillips on a basketball court at Derbyshire Park and shot him multiple times before fleeing northbound. Phillips was later pronounced dead at Halifax Health Medical Center. While a motive for the shooting is still unclear, Daytona Beach Police Chief Jakari Young stated that witnesses said the shooting could have stemmed from an argument over a female. There was no altercation before the shooting occurred.
