Northumberland County confirms second Coronavirus outbreak at Golden Plough Lodge

Photo Credit: Northumberland County Northumberland County made the announcement Saturday and say one staff member has contracted the virus. The employee was last at the Golden Plough Lodge Thursday and is now at home in self-isolation. GPL administrator, Bill Detlor, says they are working closely with the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit to ensure stringent and preventative measures are in place to keep residents and staff safe. This is the second outbreak at the facility in 2021. The first was identified in a single staff member on January 3, and there was never any spread within the home. Detlor adds that contract tracing has been completed and risk of exposure within the GPL is considered low, and no other residents or staff are showing any syptoms of COVID-19.
