As the second U.S. Senate impeachment trial for former President Donald Trump is scheduled for February 9th, Senator Charles Grassley (R) argues whether an impeachment trial should be held for a private citizen.
Grassley tells KCII that since he will be a juror in the impeachment trial he won’t give an inclination as to whether Trump should be convicted for inciting the January 6th attack at the U.S. Capitol. He does believe that security should be tightened at the Capitol, and that those who broke into the building should be held responsible, “I can’t believe that people would be so stupid to bust into a federal building and then take pictures of themselves in there, or they surely had to know they were going to be on cameras that are all over the building so that they could be easily identified. The state coronavirus dashboard shows that Washington County has 29 COVID-19 deaths, with 1,962 cases and 1,558 recoveries. County Public Health Administrator Danielle Pettit-Majewski tells KCII that the county saw clusters of new cases linked with gatherings held over Thanksgiving, and she expects to see clusters of cases linked to Christmas gatherings forthcoming, “We know that at this time, between the holidays we’ve had testing facilities close, we’ve had clinics close, we’ve had people at IDPH on vacation, plus over the weekend. So we’ve actually seen some delays in our reporting. So we know about several cases that haven’t actually come through yet, so they haven’t been counted, so I’m kind of waiting for some of those ca
