The number of new Covid cases recorded in Warrington as pubs and shops reopen ONLY 63 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in Warrington in the space of a week, according to the latest data from Public Health England. The low count came in the seven days leading up to Thursday, April 8 – the most recent period for which statistics are available. This is a rate of 30 cases for every 100,000 residents of the town, the 79th highest level of any local authority area in the country. By comparison, there were 76 positive tests returned in Warrington in the week before April 1 – or 36.2 per 100,000. Of the 315 areas in England, 89 per cent saw a fall in new coronavirus cases while 10 per cent recorded an increase.
