Police Arrest Sheriff s Deputy After Bizarre Chase
DONNA, TX – A deputy with the Hidalgo County Sheriff s Office was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and driving while intoxicated Monday night.
According to the Donna Police Department, on Mar. 15, officers with the DPD were dispatched to Lissner Avenue for the report of a reckless driver. The caller told dispatch that a truck was driving on rims and that the airbags looked as if it was deployed.
Officers found the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado and pulled the pickup over. The officers noted that the truck was heavily damaged.
The driver of the vehicle identified himself as Roberto Roel Rivera, 44, from Palmhurst. Police then found out that Rivera was a deputy for the Hidalgo County Sheriff s Office and that the truck was owned and issued by the HCSO.

McALLEN, Texas – Two men have been ordered to federal prison for decades following their more than a dozen convictions of drug crimes, carjacking, robbery and firearms offenses, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Jennifer B. Lowery along with Special Agent in Charge Christopher Combs of the FBI - San Antonio Division and Special Agent in Charge Daniel C. Comeaux of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
A McAllen jury deliberated for five hours before convicting Mexican citizen Marin Macrin Cerda aka Filtro, 34, and Jose Miguel Montemayor aka El Mickey, 30, Mission, Sept. 6, 2019, following a seven-day trial.

A third man was charged in connection to the drive-by shooting death of a 6-year-old girl near the city of Mission, on Sunday.
William Garcia, 30, of McAllen was charged with capital murder of a person under 10-year-old. Garcia s bond was set to $1 million.
Investigators said Garcia was one of the shooters that fired several rounds into the home, after a neighborhood dispute.
Authorities are still searching for additional suspects.

Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 500 migrants in a single day. The apprehensions took place along a small section of the border with Mexico near Mission, Texas.
McAllen Station Border Patrol agents working the border near Mission, Texas, on the night of February 24 encountered a single group of 130 migrants. The majority of the migrants were families and unaccompanied minors, according to information obtained from Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol officials.
Last night, RGV agents arrested a group of 130 illegal aliens in Mission, TX. In less than a 24 hour period, this area alone saw more than 500 illegal entries. The majority of the illegal entries consisted of families and unaccompanied alien children.
