Brooks County Sheriff Benny Martinez said that between 2009 and 2012, Brooks County inherited a tab of about $680,700. 

Texas Woman Indicted In White House Poison Letter Case

Dec 17, 2020 A Texas woman accused of sending poison to the White House is under indictment in the case. Cecile Ferrier, also known as Jane Ferrier, is a Canadian citizen who lives in Texas. A federal grand jury in Brownsville indicted her on several charges, including the use of biological weapons. She is accused of sending the powdery poison Ricin in a letter to the White House, as well as to Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra and others earlier this year. Her first date in federal court in Brownsville has yet to be set.  

Indictment Handed Up Against Canadian Woman In Valley Ricin Letters Case – 710am KURV

A Canadian woman accused of mailing ricin-laced envelopes to two law enforcement officials in the Rio Grande Valley has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Brownsville. 53-year-old Pascale Ferrier is charged with several biological weapons counts and for making threats via interstate commerce. In mid-September, Ferrier is alleged to have sent envelopes containing the toxin ricin to Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra, the Hidalgo County jail, and Mission Police Chief Robert Dominguez. Ferrier had been arrested by Mission police in March of last year on charges of unlawfully carrying a weapon and was jailed for a time before she was deported to Quebec.
