An MoU was signed between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) – Visakha Refinery and The Diocese of Vizagapatam Society (responsible for running two Visakha Vimala Vidyalayams supported by RINL-VSP) for infrastructural development in Visakha Vimala Vidyalayams (VVV) at RINL-Visakhapatnam Steel Plant(VSP).
The RINL has been extending the financial support to these two schools which are providing quality education to children coming from underprivileged sections of society. HPCL- Visakh Refinery is now providing financial support worth ₹37.30 lakh from their CSR funds for construction of a multipurpose hall at VVV-BC Road (Pedagantyada) and for setting up eight digital/ smart classrooms at both the VVV schools (four smart classrooms per school).

Results: HPCLâs PAT triples; at Rs 2,355 crore
State-run Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) reported Profit after Tax (PAT) of Rs 2,355 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2020, a three-fold increase year on year (yoy). Compared to the same period last year, the company reported a PAT of Rs 747 crore.
For the period April-December 2020, HPCLâs PAT soared by 192 per cent. The oil marketing company recorded a PAT of Rs 7,646 crore as against PAT of Rs 2,610 crore during the same period of previous year.

The Ashok Gehlot governmentâs decision to reduce two per cent VAT on both petrol and diesel has resulted in the reduction of oil prices in the state. The price of petrol was down by Rs 1.34 and diesel by Rs 1.31.
This was a bold decision by the Gehlot government at a time when Covid has impacted revenue collection in the state.
