Bengaluru, Feb 4 : India is ready to supply various types of weapon systems to Indian Ocean Region countries, Defence Minster Rajnath Singh said on Thursday, while stressing that the countries need to ensure peace in the region through maritime cooperation .
In a reference to to the prevailing tension in the South China Sea because of China s expansionist strategy, he said that the negative impact of conflicting claims in some maritime areas highlighted the need to ensure peace in the IOR region.
HAL Receives RFP for Basic Trainer HTT40 from IAF

HAL has received a Request for Proposal (RFP) from the Indian Air Force for their Basic Trainers requirement here today at the on-going Aero India 2021. The documents were handed over to Mr. R. Madhavan, CMD, HAL by Air Marshal Sandeep Singh, DCAS and Mr. V. L. Kantha Rao, DG (Acquisition), Ministry of Defence. The RFP is for 70 aircraft with additional clause for 38 more. The certification will be given against the PCQR. The production will take place at HAL s two manufacturing units at Bengaluru and Nashik. The RFP has come within six years from the first flight of HAL which is shortest time-line in aircraft industry. The trainer will have more than 60 percent indigenous -content and is supported by agencies such as CEMILAC, RDAQA, ASTE and others.
State-run aerospace behemoth Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) on Thursday said its order book is expected to cross Rs one trillion-mark in the next year. The order book was about Rs 53,000 crore, if you add Tejas (LCA) to it, it will cross Rs 80,000 crore, so that is the order book as of now, and we are expecting two more orders that is basically for LCH and HTT-40, coming up for the next year, HAL CMD R Madhavan said. Speaking to reporters here at the Aero India 2021, he said: We will be reaching Rs one lakh crore (Rs one trillion) plus probably by next year end..this year is quite comfortable for us, he added.

Bengaluru, Feb 4 : The Indian Air Force (IAF) sought quotation from the state-run Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) to make its basic Hindustan Turbo Trainer (HTT-40) for training its pilots, a top official said on Thursday. We have received RFQ (request for quotation) from the IAF to make HTT-40 aircraft for basic training of its rookie pilots, HAL Chairman R. Madhavan told reporters on the margins of the 13th biennial Aero India 2021 at the Yelahanka air base of the IAF on the city s northern outskirts.
