Sheriff receives Slow No Wake grant

Sheriff receives ‘Slow No Wake’ grant Hillsdale Daily News HILLSDALE The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office has received a $10,000 grant from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources to enforce the “Slow No Wake” law.  “These monies will allow us to spend more time and resources on the water,” Hillsdale County Sheriff Scott Hodshire said.  Hodshire said the sheriff’s office Marine Patrol Division will dedicate one Marine Patrol Deputy to enforce this law which will allow other Marine Deputies to look for operators that are driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol and other violations.  “It is our duty to protect you, the boater, from dangerous activities from other boaters,” Hodshire said. “We will again this year perform a “Dry Water” enforcement. We want all boaters to enjoy their time on the water without having to worry about getting injured by careless boaters.”
