Authorities are looking for a vehicle that was stolen in Polk County, Florida and is said to have contained dozens of Pfizer coronavirus vaccines.
ORLANDO, Fla. - Plant City police officers said a car carrying the COVID-19 vaccine was stolen right outside a site where senior citizens get their vaccines.
It happened outside the Strawberry Festival Grounds on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the incident report, the vaccines were being delivered by CDR Health, a company hired by Florida Emergency Management to distribute the vaccine. A spokesperson from CDR Health said a line hindered the worker from going into the secure site so he got out of his car to get the attention of the security guard, and that s when his vehicle was stolen with the vaccines.

TAMPA â The University Mall is Hillsboroughâs newest coronavirus vaccination site.
The Florida Department of Health and Florida Division of Emergency Management announced Wednesday that the state-supported site at the mall, 2200 E Fowler Ave. in Tampa, will provide the vaccine to people 65 and older and frontline health care workers. The site will offer 1,600 doses of the Pfizer vaccine to pre-registered individuals per day, free of charge.

About 500 people of color, over the age of 65, went to the church to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
âIt was easy,â church member Ruth Fleming said. âIt went smoothly and there was nothing to the shot. Iâm glad I got it.â

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. â Some people rolled up their sleeves and got their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Hillsborough County on Wednesday. Hundreds of cars processed through lines as the county began public vaccinations for people 65 years and older.
âIâm tickled pink just to get it,â said Ron Duncan.
County officials say they expect about 1,000 people at each vaccination distribution site each day. Duncan and his wife were one of the many people who got the vaccine at the Strawberry Festival fairgrounds location in Plant City.
