Hillsborough jail nurse arrested for smuggling in drugs, Sheriff says

A nurse who worked in the Hillsborough County jail faces charges after an investigation found she was bringing drugs into the facility for an inmate to sell, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriffâs Office.
Michelle Alaine Lipinski, 32, had been working in the Falkenburg Road jail since December. She worked for NaphCare, the company the Sheriffâs Office contracts to provide healthcare services for inmates.
CONCORD Frailin Manuel Gomez-Gil, a citizen of the Dominican Republic most recently residing in Lawrence, Massachusetts, was sentenced to 75 months in federal prison on Friday for participating in a fentanyl trafficking conspiracy, Acing United States Attorney John J. Farley announced today.
According to court documents and statements made in court, Gomez-Gil participated in a drug trafficking organization that was led by Sergio Martinez. Martinez, who is now serving a 45-year prison sentence, employed numerous individuals to sell fentanyl to customers from various New England states, including New Hampshire. Gomez-Gil assisted Martinez with testing, diluting, and packaging the drugs for sale.

Tampa, Fl. (Florida News Network)-Three people are facing drug trafficking charges in connection to a scheme to bring narcotic s into a Hillsborough County jail. According to the sheriff s office, 32 year old Michelle Lipinski, a nurse for NaphCare, a company contracted to work in the jail, was supplying narcotics to 40 year old Seneca Dukes, an inmate at the Falkenburg Road Jail, who was then selling the drugs to other inmates. Lipinski was allegedly being given heroin and methamphetamine, by 46 year old Miriam Benning, a friend of Dukes. After her arrest, Benning admitted to providing the drugs to Lipinski, so she could give them to Dukes. The sheriffs office says the investigation is now focusing on others who may be involved.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff s Office is investigating an argument that led to a deadly traffic incident and a shooting.
On Sunday, February 7, 2021, at approximately 9:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to The Place at Carrollwood apartment complex, where a vehicle struck and killed a 14-year-old.
Deputies learned a physical confrontation took place minutes before the crash and the driver of the vehicle is believed to have been involved in the initial altercation. At some point, shots were fired toward the driver. The woman, in her early twenties, was transported to the Citrus Park Emergency Room, where she is currently in critical condition.

Jose Miguel Ortiz, 29, was arrested Monday on murder and attempted murder charges in connection to the death of a 14-year-old boy who was fatally struck by a car at a Carrollwood apartment complex on Feb. 7.
