PROGRESS VILLAGE, Fla. The Hillsborough County Sheriff s Office is investigating after deputies found a man dead inside a car Tuesday night.
Investigators said they were called to the Progress Village Recreational Center on Progress Boulevard about a suspicious car. When they got there they said they found a man dead inside. He had upper body trauma, deputies added.
They are working to identify him and notify his family. The investigation is in the early stages and detectives are asking for any information that may assist them in determining what led up to this incident.

VALRICO, Fla. The Hillsborough County Sheriff s Office is investigating after two bodies were found in a Valrico apartment.
Sheriff Chad Chronister says investigators were called to the Valrico Station Apartments just before 9 p.m. after a neighbor heard gunshots.
When deputies got to the apartment they found two people dead, Chronister said. We do not believe this was a random act and there is no indication of risk to public safety, said Chronister. However, we are in the midst of the holiday season and now families are left grieving a sudden and painful loss. This violence has a profound impact on so many lives and in order to ensure justice is served, those who know who did it, or have any details about the incident, must speak up.

THONOTOSASSA, Fla. - A man was shot and killed Friday afternoon following a holiday gathering at ASI Landscaping Management in Thonotosassa, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
According to deputies, a 911 call about shots fired in the parking lot of the landscaping business came in around 4:04 p.m.
Deputies say they found one man deceased when they arrived on the scene. Witnesses told detectives that there was a verbal altercation before the shooting occurred. A holiday celebration should never end like it did tonight in Thonotosassa, said Sheriff Chad Chronister. The shooter is cooperating with detectives as they investigate exactly what led up to this shooting.

Chad Johnson, 45, became the victim s caretaker earlier this year. From September to November, Johnson cashed checks he wrote for himself using the victim s account. He also made numerous purchases using the victim s credit cards. The victim did not authorize any of the charges made to their accounts. Johnson was also not given permission to access the victim s banking records.
Through investigative means, detectives learned Johnson defrauded the victim of more than $46,000. Detectives arrested him this week on charges of Exploitation of an Elderly Person and Grand Theft Second Degree.
