Two Huron County men face fines for overfishing The Detroit News View Comments Caseville  Two Huron County men owe more than $8,500 in restitution after they were arraigned last week for surpassing fishing limits., the Michigan Department of Natural Resources said.  Stanley Garbacz Jr., 68, of Caseville, and Bruce Warren, 53, of Pigeon, were arraigned in Huron County District Court recently for illegal possession of panfish, perch and walleye. Garbacz turned himself in to authorities the week of May 10 and faces two charges of over limit possessions; one charge for perch and one charge for walleye, and must pay $7,930 in restitution, the DNR said in a statement.

Man dies in early morning accident in Huron County FacebookTwitterEmail A 25-year-old man died early April 29 following a single-vehicle accident in Brookfield Township. According to a press release from Huron County Sheriff Kelly Hanson, shortly before 7 a.m. April 29, officers were called out to Brown Road, just south of Kilmanagh Road for a single-vehicle accident reported by a passerby. “A passerby traversing through that area had just come across a full size pickup, overturned in the deep ditch, which contained two and a half to three feet of water,” the release read. Hanson said firefighters from Owendale, assisted by a wrecker company, removed the male from a 2004 GMC pickup truck. Kyle P. Marker, formerly of Holt, was the lone occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
